Preschool Group Programs

At Nurture, we provide play-based, evidence-informed group programs within preschool settings to support children’s early communication, language, social skills, self-regulation, and motor development. Our programs are neurodiversity-affirming, recognising and building on each child’s strengths while providing targeted support for emerging developmental needs.

All of our group-based programs are designed to increase child participation, engagement, and confidence, while also fostering inclusive, supportive preschool environments. By working collaboratively with children, educators, and families, we create programs that are fun, meaningful, and developmentally appropriate, helping children thrive and preparing them for a confident transition to school.

Our group  programs include a range of group-based offerings:

  • Early Communication & Language Groups (Speech Pathology):
These sessions help children develop functional communication, vocabulary, turn-taking, and social conversation skills in a supportive group environment. Activities are embedded within everyday routines, encouraging children to practise skills in meaningful, real-world contexts alongside their peers.

  • Social Skills & Emotional Regulation Groups (Speech and Occupational Therapy)
Children engage in structured play, role-play, and collaborative tasks to develop social interaction, cooperation, problem-solving, self-regulation, and confidence. By learning alongside peers, children gain opportunities for modelling, feedback, and inclusive participation.

  • Motor & Sensory Development Groups (Occupational Therapy):
Focused on fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, coordination, and participation in daily preschool routines, these groups support children in building the skills they need to fully engage in learning and play. Sessions are hands-on, playful, and tailored to the developmental needs of each group.

  • Educator Coaching & Embedded Support (Speech and Occupational Therapy):
Educators are an integral part of our programs, receiving practical coaching and strategies to embed supports into everyday classroom routines. This ensures skills learned in sessions are generalised across the day and across all preschool activities, building sustainable capacity within the service.
